Bloons TD 4 Walkthrough — Beating All 75 Rounds
Every track on iOS runs to 75 rounds (official). There is no official walkthrough, so this page collects the player-convention path that works across most tracks — the same shape carries first-run, intermediate and advanced play. No invented costs or numbers.
The walkthrough shape
- Opening — one tower. Place a single damage tower at the first bend and spend the first rounds upgrading it just enough to hold. (community knowledge)
- Early farm. Drop a Banana Farm as soon as your line is safe. Every round it earns more than it cost, and that compounding wins the game. (community knowledge)
- Mid-game — upgrade, then add. Push your main damage tower through its upgrades before buying a second copy. Coverage gaps: add a second tower only where bloons leak. (community knowledge)
- Late game — consolidate into Sun God. Save toward the super-tower, and keep a Spike Factory at the end as insurance. This is the classic finish for the final stretch. (community knowledge)
- Round 75 and beyond. Beat the last round, then decide: start the next track or keep going in freeplay. (community knowledge)
How each mode plays
-
Challenge Mode
Official: Confirmed in the official iOS app description — mode with unique gameplay elements added in update 2.0.
How to play (community knowledge): Player convention: expect restrictions or twists each attempt, so lean on the two things that transfer everywhere — an early farm and one strong upgraded damage tower.
-
Freeplay
Official: Continue beyond the final round and survive as long as possible (official iOS description).
How to play (community knowledge): Player convention: keep converting income into Sun Gods and Spike Factory layers; the game keeps ramping, so keep consolidating, not spreading.
-
Apopalypse Mode
Official: Added in iOS update 1.4 — a pressure variant (official iOS description).
How to play (community knowledge): Player convention: upgrade earlier than feels comfortable, because the pace does not give you time to save up later.
-
Deflation Mode
Official: Added in iOS update 1.6 (official iOS description).
How to play (community knowledge): Player convention: income is capped or scarce, so one efficient damage tower upgraded steadily beats many cheap ones.
